Visiting Lecture by Dr Arun Mittal on “Consumer Behaviour – Post-Purchase Behavior
The aim of the activity was to:
- To provide conceptual knowledge about the outputs of the consumer decision-making process—purchase and post-purchase processes.
- To examine the meanings consumers assign to consuming and possessing products and to understand what happens after purchase—post-purchase dissonance, consumer satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and brand loyalty.
With a view to provide an expert guidance and practical exposure, a lecture was delivered by Dr Arun Mittal, Associate Prof ,BIT, Mesra on the topic of ‘Consumer Behaviour – Post-Purchase Behavior ’.
The speaker initiated his session by interacting with the students and appraising them about the relevance of Consume Behaviour and also the changing dimensions of Consumer Behaviour. He then discussed the concept of Customer Expectations and Post Purchase Disonance. He further elaborated upon Relationship Marketing, which marketers use to foster customer satisfaction. The lecture ended with discussion about the implications for marketing strategy and the outcomes of consumer decision making.
