INHOUSE BUSINESS SIMULATION GAME CHANAKYA 2018 for MBA Final Year students

ABES Engineering College in association All India Management Association (AIMA) ihas conducted four days Business Simulation game “CHANAKYA 2018” at ABES Engineering College Ghaziabad from 16,18 and 20, 21 August 2018 for MBA final Year students. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Neeraj Goel, (Chairman, ABES Engineering College), Mr Sachin Goel (Vice Chairman, ABES Engineering College), Mr. Raghunandan Kansal, Advisor, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Dr. Gajendra Singh ( Director, ABES Engineering College) & Dr. R.K Singhal (HOD, Department Of Business Administration, ABES Engineering College) along with AIMA representatives Mr. D K Gupta & Mr. Vijay Singh by lightning of the lamp.

In this simulation game 93 students in two different groups with 23 teams in two groups have participated .Teams were formed with four students having specialization in Marketing, Finance, HR and IT and game was played in five different business situation/five quarters. The winner was declared at the end of quarter on the basis of cumulative profit earned at the end of last Quarter. It was a great experience by the participants who have learned the real competitive market situation and how to devise appropriate business strategies to become a business leader in the industry.

At the start of the game Teams were given a Standard Decision Form in Excel Format for each Quarter. They were required to submit the same on time as explained by the Games Administrator at the end of every Quarter. Once the time is closed, it is not available for revision, modification of entries or for any other reason. On e-submission of form, if team submit a blank form, the previous Qtr decisions will be taken automatically. The Sector Analysis Report (SAR) was given to students which gave overview of the industry. Cost and other constraints for the case were shown in the Starting Conditions. The financial position of the Company at the beginning of the Game (Quarter zero) was given in the Management Report (MR). A comparative statement of the Teams competing within Group were given in the Sector Update (SU). Further information was made available to teams at prices mentioned in the Information Packages section of the Starting Conditions or as decided by the Simulation Administrator. Changes in the external environment and some managerial proposal were communicated through the quarterly Gazettes. The winning Criterion for evaluation of the performance of a Team is the Cumulative Profit after Tax (Cum PAT) at the end of the last quarter of this event.

The event has provided the students to learn how to deal with the business and competitors in real corporate life as holistic approach and deep understanding of different business verticals such as marketing, finance, IT, IB and HR is required to devise cumulative organization strategy to become a leader among business competitors.
